Agri Segretum is a small, organic winery located in the hills of Collazzone, just outside the medieval town of Todi in Umbria. Founded in 2008 by Lorenzo de Monaco and Eileen Holland, the estate spans about 70 acres in the lush Tiber River Valley, where olive trees, wild herbs, and vines grow in harmony. Lorenzo leads the farming and winemaking with a deep respect for the land, working organically and incorporating biodynamic practices to maintain healthy soils and biodiversity. Everything is done by hand, from pruning to harvest, and the cellar work follows the same low-intervention philosophy. Fermentations are spontaneous with native yeasts, the wines are unfiltered, and the goal is always purity, balance, and transparency.
The wines reflect the rugged charm of Umbria—structured yet fresh, soulful but never overwrought. Local grapes like Sangiovese, Sagrantino, Colorino, Malvasia Nera, and Grechetto form the backbone of the lineup. Their juicy, unpretentious reds are perfect for everyday drinking, while their joyful Pet-Nats—like the Sangiovese-based “Cinino”—offer a raw, fizzy expression of place that somehow feels both rustic and modern. Agri Segretum is all about real wine from real soil, made with intention, respect, and a touch of wildness.
